Focus and Concentration Revisited

We all want to be able to concentrate, direct our attention exclusively to a goal or task, right? Of course, when we get distracted, we get off track and lose focus.

It is very important for us to focus and concentrate on the task at hand!

Imagine your surgeon is just about to make the cut and his focus is drawn to the argument he had with his wife that morning. Imagine your radiologist reading your x-ray, becoming distracted, and reading your x-ray incorrectly.

Lack of focus and concentration can create a variety of problems at home, in the workplace, and even at bedtime.

Many factors can affect your concentration including age, your health, quality of sleep, your environment, and your emotions, these all play a big part in brain health.

First, we need to understand that the brain and the mind are two completely different things. The brain is an organ in the body and is responsible for controlling your thoughts memory, speech, arm and leg movements as well as the functioning of the many organs within the body. The brain coordinates movements thoughts and feelings.

The mind, on the other hand, refers to a person’s understanding of things, and the conscience mind refers to a person’s thought process. The brain is composed of nerve cells and can be touched whereas the mind cannot be touched. The mind is energy and it generates energy through thinking, feeling, and choosing. It is our liveness without which, the physical brain would be useless. That means our mind is how we generate energy in the brain.

So, let’s talk about what we can do to improve your focus and concentration every day of your life to power up your brain and your mind.
